Privacy
The short version: your answers stay in your browser, we never ask who you are, and the only thing you can hand us is an email address you type yourself.
What stays on your device
Your answers, the amount you entered and any scenario you applied are stored in your browser's local storage so you can close the tab and come back. They are never sent to us, and clearing them is a single button — Start over on the journey, or your browser's usual site-data controls.
Clear my answers
Removes the saved journey, amount and any applied scenario from this browser. Nothing is stored anywhere else, so this is a complete deletion.
What we do not do
- No accounts, logins, passwords or profiles.
- No bank connections and no requests for account numbers.
- No selling of personal data, and no advertising trackers.
- No sensitive values in URLs, including anything you share.
The newsletter
If you subscribe, we store the email address you typed, the page you subscribed from, and the general topics your journey touched (for example “HSA” or “mortgage”) so the monthly email can stay relevant. No amounts, balances or answers are attached. Every email includes an unsubscribe link, and unsubscribing deletes the address.
The contact form
If you write to us, your name, email address and message are emailed to us and stored so we can reply and keep track of what has been answered. Nothing from your financial answers is attached — we only know which page you had open when you opened the form. Ask us to delete a message and we will.
Analytics
We use Google Analytics 4 to count visits and see which pages people find useful. It records the pages you open, roughly where in the world you are, and what kind of device you used, and it sets cookies to recognise a returning browser. It does not receive your answers, your amounts, or your plan — those never leave your browser at all.
You can opt out with your browser's tracking protection, an ad blocker, or Google's own opt-out add-on. Nothing on this site stops working if you do.
There is no advertising, no remarketing, and no data broker in the picture.
Contact
Questions about any of this can go to the address in the monthly email. BuckGuide is an educational tool and holds no personal financial data.
